Status of sales this month

Consolidated sales for September were 138.5% of the previous year's level. Due to the declaration of a state of emergency, there were signs of people refraining from going out. On the other hand, continued strong demand for camping and progress in sales of autumn and winter apparel products along with the drop in temperature kept sales strong in all channels.

Notice regarding monthly disclosure for August 2021

Status of sales this month

Consolidated sales in August were 126.6% of the previous year's level due to strong demand. Only sales at directly-managed stores fell below the previous year's level due to a decrease in the number of customers visiting stores in urban areas as the mood of restraint in going out became stronger due to the declaration of a state of emergency. However, overall sales through the direct sales channel exceeded the previous year's level due to strengthened sales through the company's EC.

Notice regarding monthly disclosure for July 2021

Status of sales this month

Consolidated sales in July were 151.9% of the previous year's level due to the continued strong performance of outdoor products throughout the company. While high demand for camping had been confirmed since June of the previous year, demand in July was also much higher than the previous year. Despite the partial impact of the state of emergency declaration, sales remained strong in all channels in Japan due to the increase in the number of customers and expansion of manufacturing capacity.

Status of sales this month

Consolidated sales for the month of June were 153.7% of the same month of the previous year, with the strong performance in outdoor products maintained company-wide. A substantial rebound was apparent after the lifting of the state of emergency in June 2020, but in June 2021 we experienced demand far surpassing that of the previous year. In Japan, the strong performance in wholesale was maintained in June. Robust sales were also apparent at directly-managed stores, despite indications of the impact of the declaration of a state of emergency in major urban areas.

Consolidated sales in May 2021 were equivalent to 165.2% of monthly sales in May 2019, which was not affected by COVID-19. E-commerce sales in May 2021 were 79.4% of the same month of the previous year, when exceptional factors had boosted sales. They were 283.5% of the same month in 2019. (Last year, a large number of physical stores were closed due to the declaration of a state of emergency, and we implemented measures such as transferring store inventory to e-commerce and promoting customer flow from physical stores to e-commerce.) We also engaged in cost control for direct sales channels, which recorded total sales equivalent to 184.2% of the same month of the previous year.
