Status of sales this month

Consolidated sales in December were 122.4% vs the previous year.
Sales in Japan were 129.0% vs the previous year. As a breakdown, sales from direct sales channels, which are a combination of Direct-to-Consumer stores and in-house EC channel, were 130.0% vs the previous year, and wholesale sales were 135.5 vs the previous year. As for directly managed stores, the number of customers visiting our stores is increasing, and sales are increasing for both members and non-members. In particular, there was a rush in demand before the price hike from January 2023, signs of a recovery in inbound demand, and demand for Christmas gifts, resulting in a significant year-on-year increase. We also confirmed that wholesale sales increased compared to the same month of the previous year due to the same trend as the direct sales channel.
Overseas sales were 102.5% vs the previous year.

Consolidated sales in November were 100.2% vs the previous year.
Sales in Japan were 94.8% vs the previous year. As a breakdown, sales from direct sales channels, which are a combination of Direct-to-Consumer stores and in-house EC channel, were 101.6% vs the previous year, and wholesale sales were 94.5% vs the previous year. As for Direct-to-Consumer stores, although it was after the campaign months of September and October, both the number of customers visiting the stores and the number of purchasing customers increased compared to last year. In wholesale sales, due to ongoing inventory adjustments, our products continued to be delayed in delivery.
Overseas sales were 121.3% vs the previous year.

Consolidated sales in October were 101.5% vs the previous year. We set a record high for single-month sales.
Sales in Japan were 94.4% vs the previous year. As a breakdown, sales from direct sales channels, which are a combination of Direct-to-Consumer stores and in-house EC channel, were 102.1% vs the previous year, and wholesale sales were 90.9% vs the previous year. The purchase unit price at Direct-to-Consumer stores continued to rise in October, due to strong sales at the Snow Peak Festival held at all stores on October 15th and 16th. In wholesale, while there were fluctuations in sell-through among wholesalers, delivery was not progressing due to ongoing inventory adjustments. However, in-store and EC wholesale sales exceeded the previous year.
Overseas sales were 127.9% vs the previous year. UK sales have temporarily decreased due to delays in delivery timing.

Consolidated sales in September were 110.5% vs the previous year.
Direct-to-Consumer store sales were 108.5% vs the previous year. Although there was a decrease in unit price since July, with the effect from a sales campaign conducted in September, unit price has increased vs previous month, resulting in sales exceeding last year. Also, with bad weather due to typhoons etc., there was an increase in traffic to our EC channel, resulting in Direct-to-Consumer sales 134% vs previous year.
Wholesale sales were 90.4% vs the previous year. Although there has been continuous progress in sell-through, sell-in has declined dues to inventory adjustment at our wholesale customers

Consolidated sales in August were 110.1% vs the previous year
B2C sales in Japan (e-com & retail) were 108.9% vs the previous year. While we continued to see growth in our customer file, similar to July we continued to see lower transaction value in the month of August
As per last month the primary reasons for lower transaction values were removal of travel restrictions for the first time since the pandemic, extreeme summer heat affected new customers from purchasing higher ticket items such as tents during this period
B2B sales in Japan were 85.8% vs the previous year. While we observed sell through progress across B2B channels, overall inventory adjustments limited sell-in progress

Consolidated sales in July were 101.9% of the previous year
Direct-to-Consumer store sales were 87.5% of the previous year. There was an increase of +10% in the numbers of both visiting customers and purchasing customers, but a significant decrease in purchasing unit price.
There are 2 reasons behind the decrease in purchasing unit price. Firstly, there was a slowdown in the number of family customers newly starting camping, leading to a decrease in the sales of high unit price products targeted at new campers, resulting in an overall decrease in purchasing unit price. It has been the first summer holiday without behavioral restrictions since the start of the pandemic, and this is believed to have caused a temporary increase in demand for travelling and activities other than camping. Secondly, there was a bulk incoming and selling of high unit price products in July last year after a shortage of tent inventory in the 1st half of last year, whereas there were no such special circumstances this year, leading to a decrease in purchasing unit price compared to last year.
Wholesale sales were 92.2% of the previous year. Similar to Direct-to-Consumer stores, sell-through did not proceed because there was a slowdown in the purchasing of camping equipment mainly by family customers, due to the increase in COVID-19 infections and also due to extreme heat, leading to a slowdown in wholesale sales.

Consolidated sales in June were 121.3% of the previous year's level.
In the wholesale business, a portion of sales from June promotional events were brought forward to May.
June was a time of promotional events, so the sales hurdle for the previous year itself was very high, but the results were extremely high for a single month of sales.

In Japan, sales of camping products at retail stores were strong, partly due to the major holidays.
In overseas locations, sales were strong in all overseas regions due to an improvement in local inventory conditions, despite the effects of ongoing logistics disruptions.

Since the lifting of the "semi-emergency coronavirus measures" in late March, the number of customers visiting stores has been increasing. Also, with the start of the camping season, demand for camping products has increased and sales have progressed favorably.

In Japan, sales to wholesale customers progressed favorably, supported by firm camp demand.
On the other hand, sales at retail stores, directly managed stores, slowed down due to the rapid spread of Covid-19 infection as well as the severe cold weather, which resulted in a decrease in the number of customers visiting stores.

In January, sales remained strong in all channels due to the continued strong sales of products for winter camping.
