Snow Peak's Materiality(Our Material Issues)

Since its foundation, Snow Peak has aspired to help even more people restore our sense of humanity through contact with nature and outdoor recreation. The world we live in today faces complex issues such as climate change, the biodiversity crisis, and increasing social division. To solve these issues, everyone needs to realize that "humans are also a part of nature" and to wake up to the importance of environmental sustainability. We believe that the recovery of humanity is a first step towards achieving this awareness. The Life Value that we provide extends beyond camping to encompass a wide range of domains such as Apparel, Food, Life, Work and Camping. And such value would not be possible without the natural environment that the planet Earth has nurtured. This is why we must always remain conscious of the sustainability in our products, activities and organization and continue contributing to a better future. Whilst promoting human connections with the natural world and with each other and increasing opportunities to recover humanity both in Japan and overseas, we will continue to reduce environmental impacts at every stage of the supply chain and make the working environments of employees in the supply chain sustainable and rewarding workplaces which value humanity. In this way, we will squarely address all kinds of issues and realize a truly rich society. We will continue to take on new challenges and grow as a company, finding connections with our employees, customers, trading partners, shareholders, and all our other stakeholders having the same aspiration, aiming to make a positive impact on the planet.

Snow Peak has added the following three unique criteria to the general ESG evaluation criteria as areas to focus on.

  • Development of "EARTH PEOPLE:" Through its business, Snow Peak will develop human resources who are aware that humans are also part of nature and who can take a lead in bringing about change in the world while valuing connections between humans and nature.
  • Provision of opportunities to restore our sense of humanity: We will create and continuously provide a platform for connecting humans and nature and a community for connecting humans with each other.
  • Strengthening of connections between producers and consumers: We will value the background to the production process and create opportunities for consumers to feel connected to this value and emotion.
